Worship Leader

EastLake Church (Chula Vista, CA)

We are one church made up of many congregations, in many communities. Our mission at Eastlake Church is to help people find and follow Jesus. The Worship Leader assists in this area as well helping people get connected through meaningful worship experiences. We are looking for a full-time Worship Leader as a key position at our Chula Vista location. The successful candidate will have responsibilities in the following areas:

Weekend Services:

  • Clear musical gifting as well as pastoral calling
  • Leads with passion, enthusiasm & energy
  • Work collaboratively to develop creative worship services relevant to the target culture/community
  • Duties will include song selections and creative developments
  • Fully support the mission, values for the entire team on the weekends.

Pastoral Care:

  • Grow worship teams and church body in their expression of worship
  • Provide Pastoral Care for each person serving in worship teams and church body through weekly care calls and check-ins

Volunteer Development:

  • Recruit, develop, and oversee a program for growing volunteers in their understanding of worship and musical abilities

Administration:

  • Participate in weekly worship team meetings and team-wide monthly connect events
  • Attend bi-weekly staff meetings
  • Use Planning Center to support song selection and worship scheduling of team members.
  • Familiarity with Abelton, Planning Center, is preferred but not required
  • Assist in the management of musicians and running of weekly rehearsals, sound checks, and technical walk-throughs

Abilities:

  • Comfortable reading music charts
  • Proficiency on keyboards/piano and/or guitar
  • Bachelor’s degree in music or ministry is preferred but not required

Candidates must have experience leading larger audiences in worship experiences, have demonstrated creative programming, and have a desire to develop a volunteer team.
