John Calvin said, “The heart of man is a perpetual factory of idols.” Idolatry is one of those subjects that can feel like an ancient Biblical concept but is actually so relevant to us today. Give us the chance, and we’ll replace God with any and every object, person, ideal, or dream. And many of the most tempting idols in our life are good things that promise to bring us happiness and fulfillment.
